WORCESTERSHIRE'S hunt for an overseas player has drawn another blank after Shane Bond rejected the move to New Road.
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes revealed at this evening's annual general meeting that the Kiwi pace ace would not be joining the 2007 NatWest Pro 40 champions.
The 32-year-old is now expected to join Hampshire on a short-term deal once his participation in the rebel Indian Cricket League this spring ends at the beginning of April.
Rhodes was informed of the injury-prone 17-Test cap international's decision this morning and after missing out on three seam bowlers for the new season which begins on April 16, the director of cricket was extremely disappointed to miss out again.
"It's very frustrating," he said. "I started to hear things last night that things weren't too good.
"Then this morning we were told. The search goes on."
