HEREFORD United boss Graham Turner is hoping that he will be able to extend the loan spells of his new potent strike force of Gary Hooper and Sherjill MacDonald.
As the Edgar Street side look to hit the summit of Coca-Cola League Two tonight (7.45pm) when they host basement boys Wrexham, the Bulls chief is already looking at keeping the strike duo on for longer.
Hooper, who joined for a month from Southend United, sees his loan deal expire on February 28, while Dutchman MacDonald sees his temporary switch from Champion-ship side West Bromwich Albion come to an end on March 8.
It has been the former AGOVV Apeldoorn, who play in the Eerste Divisie - the Dutch second division, striker who has been stealing all the headlines since joining promotion chasing Hereford.
Six goals in three games from the 23-year-old has helped the Bulls move within two points of once runaway leaders MK Dons and along with Hooper, the pair have scored nine in six.
"The partnership is looking very good indeed," Turner said. "We have got them both for a month and without a doubt we will be looking to extend that."
Victory over the lowly Welsh club at Edgar Street would make Hereford the League Two surprise leaders but Turner is refusing to get carried away.
Wrexham, under the charge of former Aston Villa boss Brian Little, made wholesale changes to their squad during the January transfer window.
Little brought in 10 new faces to his ailing squad as the North Walians battle against the drop to non-league pyramid yet again.
With draws against high-fliers Darlington and Peterb-orough, Turner is right to air on the cautious side.
"The players that Brian has brought in are starting to have an impact," he said. "They have changed a lot recently and we cannot underestimate them.
"Of course it would be nice to go top, but we cannot look at it that way, the only time to make sure that you are top is when you have played all your games.
"A win will make us another three points closer to where we want to be."
Hereford go into this match after a 2-0 victory over Chesterfield, where MacDon-ald and Hooper were both on target.
Wrexham's match against leaders MK Dons fell foul to the frost.
