ALTHOUGH Worcester Warriors are struggling at the wrong end of the Guinness Premiership table, one of their players is leading the way with an impressive set of stats.

South African three-quarter Thinus Delport is the league's best player after 11 rounds of action in terms of both metres made and clean breaks.

The former Gloucester man, who is currently weighing up whether to play on for another season or to hang up his boots, has racked up 811 metres - 116 metres more than his nearest rival, Leeds Carnegie wing Tom Biggs.

Delport has also made 14 clean breaks, which puts him at the top of that list, one ahead of giant Bath wing Matthew Banahan.

The Sixways fans' favourite also shows up well in the number of defenders beaten category where he is behind only Banahan and London Irish flyer Sailosi Tagicakibau. The leading two have skinned 26 defenders each, while Delport has out-foxed 23.
