RAPINDER Gill says he is simply happy to be playing for Worcester City - no matter what the position.
Gill has been the jack-of-all-trades for the St George's Lane club this season, playing just about everywhere on the park.
The 21-year-old began the campaign as a sweeper in Andy Preece's 3-5-2 system and briefly moved to midfield when Richard Dryden took over.
He has since been deployed on both the left and right side of defence to cover for injuries and suspensions.
The versatile defender said: "A lot of players would say that going from right-back to left-back is difficult because of the body shape and everything being reversed. But I think we have got some good players and central defenders, which helps when you are moving around. It's not been too difficult.
"Since the new manager has come in he's instilled confidence in a lot of the players and I am enjoying it.
"As it stands my preferred position would be right-back and when I get some experience and a bit more strength I want to go back to the centre of defence.
"I am just glad to be playing at the moment."
Gill was the best of a bad bunch in the Hucknall defeat, producing a man-of-the-match performance at right-back in the second-half.
He has also come in for some criticism but says he has learned to deal with it.
The former Bromsgrove Rovers player said: "A lot of players would say it doesn't affect them but it does.
"When you hear boos it does affect you. It does make you doubt yourself but it comes with experience.
"It's the younger players that get affected by that, experience teaches you to put that behind you and get on with the game.
"It doesn't help but you just get on with it and try and do the best you can.
"I have had a few little niggly injuries but it comes down to confidence. You try to do things you wouldn't normally do, which goes against, you but the new manager coming in has given me a fresh start.
"A good performance usually leads to another good performance and hopefully I can put a string of them together and get a regular place in the team."
Gill added: "It was a bad performance all round against Hucknall. We can't really take much from that.
"Personally I thought I did OK but it doesn't really matter if you don't pick up the points. You just try to move on to the next game as soon as possible."
