DROITWICH did well to subdue a stubborn Bedworth side and seal a 28-7 verdict in Midlands Three West (South).
Dynamic running from full-back Matt Blackmore resulted in a Droitwich penalty, which the reliable Duncan Hughes slotted.
A lack of communication by Droitwich allowed Bedworth's forward surge to grab a try, the conversion giving a 7-3 lead.
Hughes hit back with a penalty, before a clever run by Sean Walker saw Steve Poke run in field and feed Jonny Critchlow to power over. Hughes added the conversion.
The second period saw the Spa side raise their game and number eight Sam Herrington set up Poke to race home from 40 metres.
A great kick by Critchlow saw Paul Sweeney claim line-out ball for Nick Godfrey to score. The convincing victory kept Droitwich in second place in the table.
n Droitwich Under 15s travelled to Bredon Buzzards and suffered a 19-3 defeat.
The match began at a brisk pace with Droitwich forcing Bredon back into defending their try line.
Droitwich were rewarded with some early points when Bredon conceded a penalty which Oliver Swift converted.
Bredon exerted some strong pressure to force their first try and duly converted it.
Droitwich continued to press, creating a number of chances but were not able to convert them into points.
Bredon took advantage and scored their second try of the half. After the break, the hosts touched down again to seal the win.
