CRIPPLEGATE Guild beat visiting Himbleton C' 7-3 in Division two of the Worcester Table Tennis League.
Phil Houghton led the way with three singles wins. To complete a fine display, he also claimed the doubles partnered by Mike Sledge.
Himbleton A', at home to St George's Dragons, opened up a 4-1 lead, but their visitors fought back well during the latter stages of the match to earn a well-deserved draw.
John Rowe and Ray Rennison each won two singles for the village team, and Malcolm Crane contributed one.
Steve Mills was in good form for the Dragons winning his three singles plus the doubles with Kamil Chmurzynski.
Elizabethans romped to a 10-0 home victory over Strensham in Division Three.
Brian Ovington, Dave Bradley and Dean Lewis all won their singles in strai-ght sets.
However, Bradley struggled at times against Strensham's improving Da-vies brothers, with the first set going all the way to 15-13.
The arrival of Roger Davies in the doubles produced a great game with Elizabethans coming back well to take maximum points.
In Division One Wyre continue to hold a four-point lead at the summit.
However, second-placed Rainbow have two games in hand over the league leaders.
Falcons and Barflies need to start picking up points soon if they to avoid the drop. After playing eight games, Falcons are bottom on five points, while Barflies have nine.
