NUNNERY Wood Scorpions Under Eights edged out bottom-of-the-table Kidderminster Athletic 1-0 in the Stourport Youth League.
James Francis fired over from one yard early on and it looked like being one of those days.
Athletic kept the scoreline goalless at half-time but Scorpions increased their tempo in the second-half.
Ashley Mace turned a defender to fire a powerful shot goalwards and Francis pounced from close range.
Athletic defended superbly but were helped by Scorpions' poor finishing.
UNDER 10s: Leaders Warndon Villages Sharks were given a battle before seeing off Kidderminster Harriers FITC 6-1.
Harriers' good start was denied by the saves of keeper Harry Stanley but they did eventually score the opener.
However, changes sparked Sharks with Callum Parker heading against the bar and the keeper saving well from Matt Sowden and Liam Dayus.
Sharks dominated the second period but Parker hit the post and Sowden was twice denied by the keeper.
They finally levelled with 12 minutes to go through Sowden which opened the floodgates.
Jazz Milward buried a fine shot, Parker grabbed a quick-fire hat-trick and Louis Cafferkey completed the scoring.
Jack Dorey scored twice as Nunnery Wood Leopards beat basement boys Ferndale Youth 5-1.
Leopards started slowly but led 3-0 at the interval through Dorey (two) and Ben Harrington.
The hosts continued to pass well in the second period with Bradley Hunt scoring and Joe Bates adding a fine solo goal.
Ferndale bagged a consolation but were denied more by solid games from Keiran Smith and Connor Thomasson.
High-flying Nunnery Wood Tigers edged out Wyre Forest Panthers 2-1 with a superb Luke Obrey brace.
Tigers forced two great early saves from shots by Jordan Wise and Obrey.
Panthers hit the Worcester side with an opener on the break. But, in the second-half, Tigers drew level through Obrey's great volley from a Will Henshall corner.
Man-of-the-match Obrey also volleyed the winner, this time from Jai Gilchrist's cross.
The defence of Jake Rousell, Adam Westbury and Ben Jones snuffed out any Panthers attacks.
UNDER 12s: Northside Colts won 5-0 at Mostyn Red to boost their Division Two promotion claims with possibly their best display of the season.
Matt Armstrong fired Colts in front from Asa Harrison's pass and Jack Burton added the second with a free-kick.
Armstrong scored a great solo goal and then completed his hat-trick before half-time.
Man-of-the-match Connor Wise was outstanding in midfield and debutant Ollie Kendall impressed in defence.
Armstrong completed the scoring with his fourth goal.
UNDER 13s: Ryan Griffin and Max Price bagged braces as Oldbury Park Tigers won 6-2 at Warndon Villages in Division One.
In windy conditions, Jordan Murton scored first for Tigers from close range.
Warndon equalised after a mix-up but Tigers, playing with the wind in the second-half, went back ahead through Griffin.
Ryan Gwilliam found the roof of the net with a 35-yarder and although Villages hit back with a goal, Griffin and Price (two) sealed the victory.
Nunnery Wood Jaguars were unable to make their chances count as Cookley won 3-1.
Cookley hit them on the break with the opener after an unfortunate defensive slip.
Jaguars' Josh Newbold was denied by the save of the match before Jake Finch, Chris Jeffrey and Kyle Roscoe all went close.
However, keeper Adam Paintin produced a superb reflex save but was at fault for the second Cookley goal.
Jaguars were finally on the mark with Newbold's chip from a Finch pass only for Cookley to strike a third goal.
UNDER 14s: Northside Colts were held 1-1 in a competitive Division Two top-of-the-table clash.
Both teams remained unbeaten in the league after Will Hardiman netted an equaliser for Colts.
Falcons were denied an early goal by a great stop from Ollie Whittaker, while Hardiman was prevented from scoring by a goalline clearance at the other end.
The second-half became more tense and Falcons opened the scoring with 20 minutes left. Hardiman went close on several occasions before coolly slotting home Rob White's pass after good work from Matt Giordani.
Colts were nearly caught on the break but for a superb block-tackle by captain Ollie Booth.
