NEW boy Curtis Langdon has spoken for the first time as a Worcester player as he and his new teammates continue to prepare for the new season.
It is now under two months until Steve Diamond's new-look Warriors kick-off their 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership campaign away from home at London Irish.
Hooker Langdon was one of the first of eight new players signed by Warriors' new director of rugby.
The pair worked together at Sale for a number of seasons and the two-time England international Langdon admits that relationship has helped him settle in nice and quickly at Sixways.
"My first week has gone really well and I have got on with the lads straight away," he said.
"It's a very tight group but I feel very welcome. Coming to a new club after six seasons at Sale - it is always nice to see familiar faces.
"I am very familiar with the schedule that Dimes (Steve Diamond) runs as well, which has helped me and made the move a bit easier."
The fixture lists for the season were released on Tuesday morning and Worcester will return to the ground where they enjoyed one of their most famous, and dramatic, nights in the club's history in the league opener.
Warriors lifted the Premiership Rugby Cup at The Brentford Community Stadium at the back end of the previous campaign, their first ever top-flight trophy.
Langdon was not part of the side that took part that evening in London but he is looking forward to the clash, nonetheless.
"I did not play any first team games at London Irish but I came through the academy there after moving there at 15," he added.
"I had my first year as a professional at London Irish before I moved on. They have some coaches there that I know, so it will be nice to see them.
"But I think it will just be a good game for us to start off with.
"Obviously winning the cup at their place at the end of last season, it will be a big game for them as well - just a great way to start.
"There's a buzz around the changing room after the fixtures came out and the boys are very keen.
"There have been some changes going into this season and the lads are really looking forward to what we can achieve this year."
