THE remarkable form of Worcestershire's Kashif Ali continued on Tuesday as he racked up a double-century for the seconds in their Second Eleven Championship clash with Somerset at Stourport.
The 24-year-old was dismissed for 203 with the final ball of the day as Worcestershire closed on 452-7, with a lead of 211 after Somerset were bowled out 241.
Another promising star at the club, Ben Gibbon, took an incredible 7-64 in Somerset's first innings.
Kashif has now amassed a staggering 727 runs in his last seven SEC innings, which have yielded scores of 80, 74, 108, 82, 106, 74 and now 203.
The South Asian Cricket Academy graduate is on a contract with Worcestershire until the end of the 2022 campaign and was signed up after impressing on trial with the second team.
He has featured in the T20 Vitality Blast for the Rapids this year already but has been racking up huge numbers whilst playing for the second team.
The second eleven game also saw a return to action for wicket keeper Ben Cox, who has been out with an injury.
He made 57 off 58 balls with one six and nine fours before he was caught behind down the leg-side off Ben Green.
Tom Dell also returned from injury, a broken finger, to make 62.
At the time of print, Worcestershire had been bowled out for 505, a lead of 264.
Somerset were 63/2 in their response, with Ben Gibbon having taken two wickets.
