A weekend off from county action enabled Worcestershire CCC players to go out and gain some game time in the Birmingham District League last weekend

Opener Ed Pollock smashed 158 off 177 balls with four sixes and 16 fours for Barnt Green and put on 96 for the second wicket with Jacques Banton (55) in a total of 308-6 in Premier Division One.

Worcestershire 2nd XI Coach, Kadeer Ali, made 27, but Pathway Coach Andrew Sutton, 5-55, and Banton, 2-23, helped dismiss Smethwick for 195 and secure a 113-run win for Barnt Green.

Club captain Brett D’Oliveira made 115 not out from 95 balls with two sixes and 12 fours when appearing for Ombersley.

Jack Haynes joined his skipper in the side and made 41 from 38 balls in an Ombersley side that also contained Josh Dell and Taylor Cornall.

Josh Baker scored 24 and picked up 2-46 from 17 overs for Kenilworth Wardens (327-8) in their drawn fixture with Berkswell (235-5).

Keeper-batter Henry Cullen (49), who opened the innings, and Reeve Evitts (34) also made valuable contributions for Kenilworth.

Academy batter, Jack Home, made 74 off 73 balls with one six and 13 fours to help Shifnal (193-4) to a six-wicket win over Shrewsbury (192-9).

In Premier Division Two, Academy and Scotland spinner Oliver Davidson had figures of 14.4-3-32-4 in aiding Harborne (210-6) to a 76-run win over Dorridge (134 all out).

His Academy team-mate, Ollie Walker, made 67 off 86 balls with one six and four fours.

Walker put on 98 with former New Road batter Ollie Westbury, 90, but Himley (246-9) went down by four wickets to Walsall (249-6).

Another Academy player Ismail Mohammed featured in an unbroken opening stand of 194 as West Bromwich Dartmouth defeated Wem (193 all out) by ten wickets.

Mohammed hit 13 boundaries in his undefeated 79 from 111 balls with Bruce Thomason 105.
