WORCESTER Raiders have secured the signing of former Bristol Rovers striker Jamie Lucas from local rivals Evesham United.
The 26-year-old Welshman came through the ranks at Rovers in the youth set-up and went on to play three Football League games for the club over a period of four years.
During his time with The Gas he went out on loan at various National League clubs including two successful spells with Weston-Super-Mare in the Conference South; scoring 13 goals in 21 appearances.
Lucas, born in Pontypridd, also had short stints the likes of Boreham Wood, Woking, Gloucester City, Brackley Town and Bath City.
But he struggled to ever really find his way with a club and ahead of the 2019-20 season he stepped down into the Southern League with Halesowen, but only managed a handful of appearances before heading out on loan to Evesham United.
He then made his move permanent to The Robins at the start of the 2020/21 campaign and has been there ever since.
But now he will join Raiders in their first ever season at Step 5 and chairman Steve Harris said he was delighted to have secured his services.
