There has been plenty of reaction to the news that Worcester Raiders will be playing in Step 5 of the non-league football ladder next season.
The FA gave the green light for Raiders’ promotion after Walton Casuals withdrew from the Southern league.
That meant a reshuffle of leagues at Step 3 and 4, meaning an extra place opened up in Step 5.
And as the team that lost in the play-off final, Raiders were handed that place.
Assistant manager, Tyrone Henderson, originally came in last month prepared for Step 6 but now will join the club as they play in Step 5 for the first time.
“Fantastic news today on us getting promoted to the Hellenic Prem,” he said.
“Was a bit of a shock about lunchtime hearing the news, as in two weeks we were preparing for step 6 for pre-season, now it changes everything
“The group of players who have already agreed to stay are more then capable of competing at that level and we want to give it our best shot and with a few more additions and our set up we are more then ready.
“It’s great for the city of Worcester with both teams doing their best to get up their respective leagues.”
