THE first contracts for next season have been signed at Worcester City and it's good news for the supporters.
Captain Craig Jones and vice captain Aaron Roberts will continue to lead the side for the 2022/23 campaign after agreeing new contracts with the club.
Manager Tim Harris has been working hard behind the scenes to build his side but the duo will have been top of his list to keep on.
"Craig is a leader," said Harris.
"He is a winner and someone we missed greatly last season, being out for six months from what was a horrendous challenge.
"His determination and desire are there for all to see, and from the first minute I walked through the door Craig has shown a truly professional outlook."
On Roberts, Harris continued:"Aaron is a firm fans favourite, a real competitor and character.
"Aaron has shown total commitment to Worcester City and no one is more delighted than myself.
"Aaron has the ability to play in several positions and when called on last term even scored two goals as a striker against Boldmere St Michael’s."
Roberts and Jones are two of the longest servants in this current side, having both signed for the club back in 2019 from Bromsgrove Sporting.
The pair both racked up over 200 appearances for Sporting and are considered legends at the Victoria Ground, but are now consolidating themselves as big fan favourites with City fans.
Roberts stepped up and captained the side for the majority of last season after normal skipper Jones was ruled out for six months back in September.
Boss Harris has been working hard behind the scenes to build his squad for the next season and more signings and announcements are on the horizon.
