WESTFIELDS were beaten 2-0 at Coalville Town who recorded a Midland Alliance double over the Hereford side.
The visitors should have got something from the game but failed to take good early chances which fell to Shaun Prince and Simon Gwilliam.
Then Westfields conceded a sloppy goal 10 minutes before half-time through Mike Swann after Terry Green cleared a Dan Russell effort off the line.
Westfields should have been level by half-time but Prince drove high over the bar.
Although Jamie Edwards and Prince went close, a Green mistake allowed Chris Waldrum through to score Coalville's second goal.
Chris Gibson saved a late long-range effort from Jon Hill as Fields paid for missing their chances.
They will hope for better at home to Tipton Town in the Alliance tomorrow night (7.45).
Meanwhile, Bromyard Town looked like a beaten side from the first whistle as they lost 2-0 at Lye Town in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
The bottom-of-the-table team only prevented a bigger scoreline thanks to the heroics of keeper Aaron O'Malley.
Lye dominated and made the visitors back-four work hard to keep them at bay until half-time.
After the break, Bromyard's performance did not improve and it was only a question of when and how many goals would be scored.
Mid-way through the second-half, Lye scored twice to seal an easy victory without Bromyard mounting one serious attack for the entire game.
It left everyone disappointed considering their recent run of good form.
Pegasus Juniors were denied by a late leveller in a 1-1 draw at Carterton in the Hellenic League Premier Division.
Juniors ended a run of five defeats in a row after an early goal settled their nerves.
Cory Hyde's 10th-minute volley from a Ben Price cross enabled them to dominate the game.
Pegasus gave a debut to 16-year-old Hereford United keeper Liam Brewer who saved well from a Jamie Clark long-range shot.
Price hit the bar and Chris Mortlock the post in quick succession before Bobby Aldrich lashed the ball against the woodwork in the second period.
The home forwards were contained by man-of-the-match Mark Smith and Andy Mowen.
Substitute Nick Aldrich also went close for Pegasus but Carterton salvaged an undeserved point through Tom Perry's mis-hit shot.
Pegasus visit Wellington tomorrow night in the Herefordshire FA Senior Cup semi-finals.
