Moeen Ali and overseas stars Dwayne Bravo and Colin Munro will all be available for Worcestershire Rapids’ first home Vitality Blast game of 2022.
Worcestershire’s short format campaign gets underway on Wednesday and Rapids fans won’t have to wait too long to catch a glimpse of the star trio.
All three look set to be in contention for the side’s first match at New Road, against Birmingham Bears on Friday, June 3.
Munro could come into the line-up even sooner, aiming to make the first appearance of his third spell with Worcestershire on Friday as the side travel to Trent Bridge to take on Notts Outlaws.
However, the New Zealand batter only flies into the country on Thursday so it remains to be seen if he will be ready in time.
Ali and Bravo meanwhile are both hoping to be ready in time for Rapids’ clash with Durham at the Emirates Riverside next week, with pair available to play from June 1.
Both men were part of the Chennai Super Kings side that finished second from bottom in this year’s Indian Premier League, a disappointing result for the 2021 champions.
The trio will then all be available for Rapids’ home opener at New Road, as they take on the Bears on June 3.
This is quickly followed by another home game, with Leicestershire Foxes coming to Worcester on June 5.
Worcestershire Head Coach, Alex Gidman, said: “Colin Munro is arriving on Thursday. He has had some passport and visa issues back in New Zealand, which were out of our control.
“The documents only arrived yesterday (Monday), so he won’t be able to get over in time for the first game.
“He wants to play on Friday at Trent Bridge. We’ve just got to make sure that physically he is okay, and obviously, flights are on time and things like that.
“But, all things being equal, he will be available for Friday.
“Dwayne Bravo just needs a short rest after the IPL, as he is carrying a little bit of soreness, so he will be available from June 1.
“Moeen, likewise, is having a quick breather after the IPL and should be available from June 1 too.”
