YOUTHFUL new-look Kidderminster Harriers were kept at bay by Northwich Victoria keeper Lewis Edge at Aggborough on Saturday.
After a busy day of transfers on deadline day manager Mark Yates fielded an unfamilliar side at home.
James Constable, Stuart White-head, Scott Bevan and Michael Blackwood all left the club last week and Yates brought in youthful talent as their replacements.
On-loan striker Darryl Knights (Yeovil), midfielder Matthew Bailey (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and defender Luke Jones (Shrewsbury Town) all made debuts after joining on Thursday.
Left back Alex Jeannin, who made his debut in the loss to Droylsden last week and keeper Chris MacKenzie (back at Harriers on a permanent basis after spending a spell on loan earlier in the season), were also in the side.
Kidderminster's youthful exuberance tested Northwich to the limit but they were thwarted by Edge time and again.
The keeper tipped over defender Michael Welch's back header in the 30th minute as the hosts piled on the pressure.
He then dived at full stretch to tip away Knights' goalbound thunderbolt in the 39th minute.
Iyseden Christie wasted a good chance early in the second half when he headed Dean Bennett's cross wide.
The visitors looked more dangerous in the second half as Harriers ran out of steam. Welch saw a 30-yard effort fly just over, Aaron Burns shot at MacKenzie, while at the other end of the pitch Edge got a hand to substitute Simon Russell's looping effort.
In the end Harriers couldn't find a way through and had to settle for a draw which leaves the club needing a miracle to make the promotion play-offs in the Blue Square Premier.
