PERSHORE Town boss Danny Janes has stated he “would never stand in the way” of one of his players moving up the non-league ladder after interest for midfielder Sam Clark from both Worcester City and Redditch United.
Clark has been a key man in a Pershore side that completed a non-league cup treble at the weekend after winning the Smedley Crooke Cup Final against Malvern Town.
Janes confirmed that the two clubs were interested in Clark and the boss sees it as a nod to how good his side have been this season.
“Sam Clark has had some interest from Worcester City and the Redditch manager called me and asked me about him,” said Janes.
“I said to them I would always support them getting in touch with Sam, because you want to push them on.
“Obviously we will never stand in the way of a player wanting to play at a higher level.
“But we aren’t a feeder club and we will always try and keep players.
“But it shows we’re doing something right if other clubs are coming in for players.
“But I don’t think we will lose players at all. They won’t enjoy it as much as they do here anyway!”
