GRAHAM Turner reckons tomorrow's potentially crucial League Two promotion clash at Rotherham could be just the tonic to lift Hereford United's spirits.
The Bulls have endured a minor blip of late which has seen them lose three games on the trot for the first time this season.
A 4-0 defeat at Chesterfield was followed by the FA Cup disappointment against Card-iff City and compounded with a 2-1 reverse against Barnet at Edgar Street on Wednesday.
But manager Turner is refusing to panic and insists the club's recent run must be kept in perspective with their ach-ievements in general since Au-gust.
The United manager is looking for his side to raise their game at Millmoor after watching them concede an 85th-minute Nicky Nicolau goal in losing 2-1 against Barnet.
The Bulls are two places and four points below third-placed Rotherham, who drew 0-0 at Edgar Street on the opening day of the season, but have the opportunity to close the gap on their promotion rivals.
"We have got to stop the rot," Turner said. "Most sides will have a difficult period as MK Dons are finding out.
"We have got to keep things in perspective and make sure there are no panic measures but it's a big game for us.
"We have got a difficult game at Rotherham but it may just be something we need."
The manager added: "I was disappointed with the level of performance (against Barnet).
"When we equalised we looked a lot sharper and may have scored a second goal but defensively we were poor for both of their goals and we looked tired."
Hereford missed out on two players on transfer deadline day. The Edgar Street club were knocked back by an un-named target and failed to land a loan deal after the player suffered an injury.
Turner said: "We had an offer accepted by a club and the player has turned us down. He wanted to stay at his club. We had another loan player lined up but he got injured playing for a Cham-pionship side's reserves on Wednesday."
Striker Trevor Benjamin, who has been struggling with a knee injury, may be fit.
