NEW Malvern Town manager Joe Rawle believes there is enough talent at the club to drag them clear of relegation.

Although only one side looks set to take the drop from British Gas Business Division One Midlands, Malvern are only six points above bottom side Berkhamsted but have played a game more.

Rawle, who was appointed as Paul Molloy's successor earlier this week, has inherited a team that has not won since December 1.

And his first game in charge saw Malvern lose 3-2 at home to Bromyard Town in the Worcester Infirmary Cup first round on Tuesday in which Ed Lyons and Tom Lacey were on target.

However, the new boss is confident the team, who entertain Dunstable Town on Saturday (3pm), will still be part of the Southern League come the end of the season.

Rawle, beginning his second stint in the Langland Stadium hot-seat, said: "I do think we have got enough about us to get ourselves out of the bottom two but we have got to take it a week at a time.

"The only problem is that taking over this late in the season, there's not a lot of time left."

Captain Nick Clayton is nursing a knee injury, while fellow defenders Andrew Widdowson and Joe Leighton have tweaked hamstrings.

Midfielder Joel Skyers could return following a spell on the sidelines with a fractured cheekbone sustained in the 4-0 defeat at Chasetown two weeks ago.
