THE outcome of the cancelled Gallagher Premiership fixture between Gloucester Rugby and Worcester Warriors in March remains to be confirmed almost a month on.
Premiership Rugby asked Sport Resolutions UK to form the independent panel to adjudicate the points after Worcester pulled out of the fixture due to them being unable to field six front-row players.
Injuries, Covid-19 and other illnesses were the reasons behind that cancellation but it was disputed as to how the points would be decided.
if Covid was indeed the reason, it will be four points to Gloucester and two to Worcester, but if the panel find that Covid was not the reason, the full five points will go to the home side.
The panel were supposed to be sitting on Tuesday night but as of midday Wednesday, Warriors boss Steve Diamond was still in the hearing and, seemingly, the outcome appears no closer.
It is believed that the full five points will go to Gloucester and that a potential fine for Worcester could be on the cards.
More when we get it.
