A KEY factor in Evesham seconds' 3-2 win over their counterparts from Pershore was young Dave Crouchley who has been in a rich vein of form recently and again took the spotlight.

Evesham started the better of the two sides and took the game to the away team.

The hosts opened the scoring when wing man Andy Turner's run and pass picked out Pat Gibbs who cleverly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper.

Confidence was high and the opposition were on the back foot but danger was lurking as Pershore took a liking to the fast counter attack though Matt Haines and Mark Dufty kept them out.

After a reshuffle a second goal arrived for the hosts with Turner the provider and Cro-uchley on hand to guide the ball through the goalkeeper's legs.

Pershore were given a lifeline from a short corner when Andy Taylor set up Ali San-derson for a crisp finish.

Evesham netted a deserved third goal after a neat short corner routine when Stuart Berry cracked the ball against a post but Haines was on hand to score.

Undeterred by the concession, Pershore strung together some flowing play with James Massingham and James Barker creating chances from midfield and Chris Ridings made it 3-2 from Sanderson's pass.

Evesham did hang on to a deserved win and they will be hoping to further strengthen their outside promotion hopes with a win at Berkswell and Balsall on Saturday, which would also favour Pershore who play host to Stafford.
