NICK Powell picked up the Young Player of the Year award at the annunal Eves-ham Cricket Club awards evening.

A first-team regular, Powell took 21 wickets and scored 255 league runs in his inaurugal season at the club. He also won the Under 16s player of the year gong and had a successful County season picking up 20 wickets.

Sixteen-year-old Andrew Fis-her picked up the Champagne Moment award for his century against Berkswell back in September.

There were numerous candidates for the trophy including Tom Paul for his quickfire century at Smethwick, Luke Fisher's six-studded ton agai-nst Claverley as well as bow-lers Alex Harrison (twice), Stuart Langstone, Matt Hutt-on, Matt Jackson, Peter Davi-dson and Richard Pedley who all claimed six-wicket hauls.

Fisher won the award as he helped save the first team from relegation from Division Two of the Birmingham Pre-mier League.

Coming into bat at number seven with Evesham in dire straits at 24-5 after 11 overs chasing 316, he hit an unbeaten 104.

Alex Harrison won the first team player of the year award having taken 47 wickets at 17.5 apiece.

The second team player of the year gong went to Langstone for the second consecutive season after taking 28 wickets and topping the league averages. Luke Fisher won the third team award, while Andy Green won the fourth team gong in a season where he took two hat-tricks.
