STOURPORT Swifts boss Neil Hunt says tonight's Worcestershire Senior Cup first ro-und clash at Kidderminster Harriers (7.30pm) is a chance for his players to put themselves in the spotlight.
The Walshes Meadow chief, despite picking up three points against Malvern Town at the weekend, was less than happy with his players and warns that one or two are facing the axe from the club.
But this county cup clash at Aggborough will give Hunt the opportunity to re-jig the side.
"We have some young players and this is their chance to put them in the shop window playing against a full-time team on a Football League standard pitch," Hunt said.
"I'm expecting them to work their socks off against Kidderminster."
The clash at Aggborough could see several players in the last chance saloon as Hunt looks to shake-up his squad despite picking up their first win in four matches.
A 2-1 win at local rivals Malvern was not enough to put a smile on the Walshes Meadow chief's face.
"Saturday showed me that this squad is not good enough," fumed Hunt. "I'm going to have to release one or two so that I can bring one or two in.
"The only positive thing about the Malvern match was the record books show that we won 2-1 and we have three points - that is it.
"We played a lot better in the three games before the weekend and got nothing, but that doesn't make it any easier. We didn't deserve to win."
Hunt will be without the suspended keeper Chris Jay for tonight's clash as he starts a two-game ban, giving Craig Ladek a chance to stake his claim for the number one jersey, while Chris Webb (shoulder) and Ricky Colwell (hamstring) both miss out.
Harriers boss Mark Yates is expected to give Matthew Barnes-Homer a start as he looks for a better display following Saturday's shock 1-0 defeat at Droylsden.
The Aggborough chief was left fuming following the weekend reverse as Jody Banim sealed the match with a 15th-minute strike.
With a thin squad, many of 16 at the Bloods are expected to feature with Michael McGrath and Brian Smikle likely to be handed starts.
