A MIXTURE of ill-discipline and unforced errors was the difference as Pershore lost 30-17 at Old Redcliffians in Western Counties North.

Pershore started down the slope in Somerset with the wind behind them and enjoyed plenty of territory.

But an interception saw a home winger take the ball the length of the field to score a converted try under the posts.

Pershore earned some reward when full-back James Martin chipped the ball over the home defence and scored in the corner but Scott Morris missed the conversion.

But Old Reds looked dangerous when they spread the ball and posted two tries to lead 17-5 at half-time.

A brace of penalties extended their advantage in the second period but Pershore's pack rallied.

After fine territorial kicking from Morris and Ben Pullin, Pershore won a penalty and Adrian Hanson eventually popped the ball up for number eight Martin Hope to barge over. Morris converted.

However, Old Reds put the game beyond doubt with a try before Alex Peel replied, getting on the score sheet for the fourth successive week.
