PERSHORE Town have been subject to an FA investigation following an incident during their Worcestershire FA Senior Cup semi-final 3-2 win at Redditch United on Monday February 7.
The incident involved a smoke bomb that was thrown from where the Pershore fans were congregated behind the goal towards a group of Redditch fans in the corner.
It occurred following Josh Willis' penalty in the first-half to make the scores 1-1.
The smoke bomb was thrown towards a section of Redditch supporters in the corner nearest the away fans, and then thrown back at the away end by the Redditch fans in the corner.
It was reported by the referee in his report after the game.
The Plums eventually went on to win the game 3-2 and reach the final of the cup, where they will play Worcester City.
The club released a statement on their website on Thursday, February 10, saying: "Pershore Town would like to confirm that we have worked closely with the Worcestershire FA and Redditch United following an incident during Monday's Worcestershire Senior Cup Semi Final at the Trico Stadium.
"Following a quick, thorough and decisive investigation by the board of Pershore Town, and with the help of footage obtained from Redditch United, we have been able to inform the FA of the culprit.
"As a football club, making huge strides to thrive within our community, we do not condone this sort of behaviour and actions from within will be taken."
"Pershore Town will continue to work hard to obtain new supporters from within the local community, providing a safe environment to watch football.
"We thank Redditch United for their help in solving this investigation at the earliest stage."
