WORCESTERSHIRE are facing more financial misery after flood water breached the buildings at their New Road ground.
The County announced losses of more than £1million on Monday due to the devastating summer floods and now water is back in the club shop and the dressing rooms. Damage from the current flood is expected to cost in the region of £10,000.
New Road has been under water for the past 10 days and the longer the floods hang around the greater the prospect of costs increasing, says chief executive Mark Newton.
He added: "At the moment the water is in the shop, but it is still two feet below the floods of the summer.
"It is probably three feet deep in the middle of the pitch and about six feet in the corners, although it is only just coming into the buildings.
"But with water in the buildings it now means that we have to go out and hire a dehumidifier and other equipment to dry the buildings out. That is probably going to cost around £8-10,000."
With the water not expected to peak until today the situation is likely to get worse before it gets better.
