IMPROVING RGSAO Worcester have started well in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.
After struggling last season, they restricted Droitwich B' to 104-3 off 12 overs and then batted sensibly to total 105-3.
In the Sunday section, Droitwich's openers impressed but the team were pegged back by several run-outs.
Craig Hunt scored 29 not out, Nigel Haddock 25 retired and Glen Harrison 16no, while Dan Sproul took 1-32.
Despite losing two wickets in the last over, the students won with four balls to spare.
Although Martyn Davies took 1-31 and Haddock 1-12, Dan Sproul (26no) and Oli Flower (25) scored valuable runs.
Worcester Nomads A' defeated Himbleton by 59 runs.
Paul Gardner scored 42no and Derek Austin 33no to lead Nomads to 149-4, while Himbleton's Sam Jenkins claimed 1-30 and Jamie Alford 1-46.
Himbleton crashed to 90-6 as John Critchol was left with the tough task of scoring 59 runs off the final 10 balls. Critchol was stumped for 43 after Matt McCann earlier added 14.
For Nomads, Darren Lakin took 2-22, Ben Schiffman 1-21 and Malcolm Jones 1-17.
On Monday, Old Vigornians defeated Droitwich C' by 20 runs with Arti Fiaz scoring 40no for the winners.
OVs were harsh on Droitwich with Dave Mendham adding 37no from 26 balls and Azmat Riaz 11 in their 125-4. Keith Clarke (1-25) was the only successful bowler for Spa.
In reply, Mendham (1-26) and Phil Mackie (1-13) made life hard for Droitwich as they were restricted to 105-5.
Max Young top-scored with 36no alongside Jack Stephens (13) and Peter Gurr (10).
Newcomers Barnards Green lost by four wickets to a confident Nomads C' team.
Although Nomads looked to be heading for an easy win inside nine overs, Green made them wait until the fourth ball of the 12th over.
Green recovered after a poor start to make 120-5 with Tim Clarke hitting 46no from 19 balls and Jez Clarke contributing 21. Nomads' Andy Leech took 1-34, Dean Oliver 1-26 and Dean Saunders 1-12.
The Worcester side got off to a strong start on their way to 122-1 with Leech blasting 26 retired, Reg Dixon 25no, Oliver 20 retired and Saunders 15.
