WORCESTER City manager Richard Dryden says that common sense has prevailed after their abandoned match at Nuneaton Borough was ordered to be replayed.
The floodlights at Liberty Way failed twice last Saturday forcing referee Terry Simmons to call an early halt to proceedings with 82 minutes on the clock.
Boro had hoped that the 2-0 result would stand, but last night the Football Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick contacted the St George's Lane club to inform them that the league's management committee has ordered the game to be replayed.
"It is common sense," Dryden said. "There were still 10 minutes left on the clock plus injury time and anything could have happened.
"I think that the people connected with Nuneaton appreciate that this was the only sensible outcome.
"Now I just look forward to getting the game rearranged and going back up there."
Nuneaton do have 14 days to lodge an appeal against the decision.
