HEREFORD United manager Graham Turner was not getting carried away after his side's FA Cup victory over Tranmere Rovers.

Simon Johnson's excellent strike 19 minutes from time secured success in the third round replay at Edgar Street and set-up a fourth round home date against Championship side Cardiff City on Sunday week.

Hereford were under pressure from Ronnie Moore's League One outfit early on but held on for victory once Johnson broke the deadlock in front of a packed house.

Turner, however, thought his side looked slightly jaded in their second game in three days following last Sunday's 3-1 triumph against Shrewsbury Town.

The manager said: "I don't think we playd as well as we can do but we put the ball in the back of the net one more time than they did. They had a lot of the ball but we took one of our few chances.

"I know we can do better and play better. We have had some big games recently and maybe that has taken its toll because there was a big game against Shrewsbury on Sunday and that was coming after a hard Christmas and new year programme.

"But the victory keeps everybody bouyant."
