YOUNG fly-half Fin Smith has opened up on the "really cool" conversation between him and British and Irish Lion Dan Biggar following the Northampton Saints defeat at Franklin's Gardens last weekend.
Warriors were thrashed 66-10 but the Welsh fly-half made an effort to chat with Smith post-game, a moment captured by the BT cameras at the time.
"The main message from him was that he thought I had a good game and to just crack on," said Smith.
"He said I had done well and he told me that you can't let results like this sort of bog you down.
"He said he saw a lot of himself in me at a young age so I appreciated that and the main thing from him was that it would take one good performance and the confidence will start coming back to us as a team.
"To take the chance to come and speak to me was great from him but in general it was just a 'crack on next week'.
"Just a really cool moment for me."
Biggar kicked 19 points in the game, including a try and a couple of assists and Smith added that he took time to re-watch his opposition number's performance following the match.
"During the game I'm just looking at who im tackling to be honest," he added.
"But I had a good look at what he did after the game and how we could use it in attack. He's a classy operator, it was important for me to have a good look at what he did."
The Saints defeat promoted an "incredibly passionate" meeting on Monday, reported Head coach Jonathan Thomas on Tuesday and Smith echoed those comments.
"The coaches have talked a lot previously but the key members of the squad were driving it this time," he said.
"We sat down and pressed play on the game and spoke through all the moments, it was a powerful meeting - some pretty honest and tough feedback but that's what we need.
"It has probably been one of the most honest weeks we have had at the club.
"Hopefully we can see the impact of that this weekend and if there was any game to learn from, Northampton was definitely the one."
Warriors host Sale on Saturday, looking to bounce-back from recent heavy defeats at the hands of Exeter Chiefs, Leicester Tigers and Northampton.
"It's a massive game," added Smith.
"The fans and the staff at the club deserve a massive effort from us.
"We have probably let them down a little bit in the last few weeks but it is on us to find something this weekend, especially at home."
