HEREFORD United manager Graham Turner is convinced his side can be more than a match for Tranmere Rovers in tonight's FA Cup third round replay (7.45).

The Bulls, second in League Two, take on the 10th-placed League One side for the second time in 11 days after a 2-2 draw at Prenton Park.

Second-half goals from Ben Smith and Trevor Benjamin looked to have the Bulls in control on the Wirral but two late efforts from Steven Jennings and Gareth Taylor forced a replay for Ronnie Moore's men.

The winners of tonight's clash will host Championship side Cardiff in the next round at the end of the month and Turner believes there is more to come from his side.

He said: "They gave us a tough time at Prenton Park but I think we can play better than we did there.

"We have had a decent run of late with the only real setback being Morecambe (December 22). There is an air of confidence about the side which we take into the game against Tranmere.

"That confidence comes from good performances and we hope that continues."

Edgar Street is expected to be packed the rafters as United look to oust another League One side from the competition.

Turner's men, unbeaten in their last five matches, got the better of Yorkshire giants Leeds United in a first round replay before seeing off Hartlepool United 2-0 at Edgar Street at the beginning of last month.

He said: "We have had some big games in recent weeks and that continues with the visit of Tranmere. It's one for the supporters to relish.

"Particularly in the FA Cup, it creates a special atmosphere with the history of our club and giant-killings and it's an opportunity to progress to the fourth round."

On-loan Watford midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, replaced by Kris Taylor against the Shrews, is set to return to the side after missing Sunday's 3-1 victory against Shrewsbury through a one-match ban.

However, injury doubts still remain over midfielders Clint Easton (calf), Luke Webb (ankle) and striker Steve Guinan (calf).

Tranmere boss Moore will again be without central defender and captain Ian Goodison, who is due to complete a four-match suspension tonight.

Rovers' midfielder Jennings, who scored the first goal to get his side back into the original fixture, will be returning to the club where he impressed on loan last season.

He said: "When I went down there I wasn't in the manager's plans here.

"But being at Hereford did me a world of good and I was delighted to get a goal in the first game. Now I'd love to go and win at Hereford."
