PERSHORE were emphatic 77-25 victors in their North Midlands Shield second round clash at Veseyans.
Veseyans took an early lead through a penalty, but it did not take the visitors long to get on the score sheet through winger Richard Jenkinson.
Further first-half scores by Kris Bassett, Alex Peel, Robin Haines and Stefan Ellis, plus the accurate kicking of centre Scott Morris ensured Pershore went into half-time leading 41-6.
The second-half started poorly for Pershore. Karl Evans was sin-binned for slowing the ball and the 10 minutes in which Pershore were down to 14 men helped the home side score 19 unanswered points.
Once Pershore had a full complement of players, they again became ruthless and dominated the line-out and the pack made sure their opposing forwards suffered a torrid afternoon.
Martin Hope enjoyed a second-half hat-trick and further scores from Ellis, Morris and James Martin gave Pershore a well-earned victory.
Pershore are back to Western Counties North action on Saturday when they entertain Stroud at Piddle Park.
