MALVERN Town chairman Paul Pallett will not be rushed into appointing a new manager at the club.

The Langland Stadium side parted company with Paul Molloy at the end of December and are currently under the caretaker leadership of former boss Joe Rawle and reserve team coach Les Jones.

The pair oversaw a 2-2 draw at Cinderford Town on New Year's Day but last Tuesday's Worcester Infirmary Cup match against Bromyard was abandoned after 60 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch.

Rawle and Jones will remain in charge for tonight's British Gas Business Division One Midlands home match against Leighton Town (7.45), Saturday's trip to Chasetown and the visit of Stourport Swifts the following weekend.

Chairman Pallett has received interest over the vacancy but is taking his time to consider the situation.

He said: "I have had four applications now and I shall interview all of them. I can't see any urgency at the moment until the end of the month."

Meanwhile, centre-half Daryl Burgess could make his debut for Bromsgrove Rovers in their Premier Division match at Chippenham Town tonight (7.45).

The former West Brom and Kidderminster Harriers defender has joined the Victoria Ground club after being released by Blue Square North side Nuneaton Borough. Kevin Banner (foot) is a doubt, while Stuart Skidmore (cruciate ligament) and James Smith (broken arm) are about to start training again following long spells out.

Rovers are looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Merthyr Tydfil at the Victoria Ground.

Chippenham have lost two of their last three matches and failed to score in any of them.
