THE two teams equal top of Worcester and District Skittle League Division Two met at the Barbourne Ex club.
Home team Avengers built up a steady lead, winning the first three legs by six, 12 and 11 pins respectively.
Alleycats won the fourth leg by a single pin and were left needing 110 to win after Avengers' final effort of 81.
But they could only manage 76 and lost the game by 33 pins.
Avengers now lead the division on 20 points with Alleycats and Floaters equal second with 18.
