HEADING for promotion? It would appear that way as Evesham found the net four times with headers and a clinical late strike from Mark Owen.
The British Gas Business Division One Midlands whipping boys were totally outplayed as Paul West's men won for the first time in 2008 in emphatic fashion - a rout started by captain Steve Lutz after 14 minutes.
The midfielder glanced in Paul Bonar's excellent pass and the lead was doubled seven minutes later when Danny Scheppel nodded in Daniel Lennon's cross at the far post.
Keeper Nathan Vaughan was forced into a solitary save and United's lead could so easily have been doubled by the interval after which Gary Hay showed superb strength and skill before his fierce drive was kept out by the Berkhamsted custodian.
Striker Hay's departure after 62 minutes saw James Knott enter the fray and the substitute made it 3-0 with his first touch when he rose highest to head in Michael Hayden's corner.
After more chances went begging - including one for the hosts - Lutz got on the end of Scheppel's corner kick to make it 4-0 ten minutes from time.
After twice going close to adding to his 20-goal season's tally, Owen combined superbly with fellow substitute Knott before a clinical finish rounded off a splendid team display.
