DREAMS of a return to Wembley will be far from Kidderminster Harriers boss Mark Yates' mind on Saturday as they head to Weymouth in the FA Trophy second round.
Last season's runners-up in the non-league's premier cup competition were left humbled and embarrassed by Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Altrincham, their first loss in eight games.
Yates was left fuming and he issued a public apology to the 70 or so travelling fans that made the trip to Moss Lane.
The Harriers chief will be hoping he will not have to make a repeat statement come 5pm tomorrow.
"We are looking for a response from what was a very disappointing result on Tuesday night," Yates said.
"Altrincham only had two shots on goal and the manner in which they scored was very poor on our terms."
Yates believes his side can bounce back from the Moss Lane defeat and hopes Harriers can go on another unbeaten run.
He said: "We have been looking a lot better over the last month and we are not far away from where we want to be. But it was a couple of mistakes that cost us again."
Harriers head for Weymouth with a fully-fit squad but Yates still hopes to add several new faces in the transfer window.
He may recall skipper Stuart Whitehead to the starting line-up in central defence.
"I'm trying to get a couple of people in but they are not available at the moment and hopefully I won't lose anyone this month either," he added.
But out-of-favour left-back Jonny Harkness has joined Jon Munday in spending a month on loan at Worcester City.
Meanwhile, Weymouth's squad is stretched to the limit with six injured, including former Arsenal midfielder Paulo Vernazza (foot), one suspended and another cup-tied.
Weymouth boss Jason Tindall is under pressure at the Wessex Stadium but is set to welcome back fans' favourite, striker Stuart Beavon, from a minor injury.
