STOURPORT Swifts manager Neil Hunt believes his team is heading in the right direction - although he says there is still a long way to go.

Hunt is confident his team is making progress after recording a win and a draw from his first four British Gas Business Division One Midlands games in charge.

Swifts' morale was further enchanced with a 6-0 trouncing of Ledbury Town in the Worcester Infirmary Cup first round in mid-week with goals from Duncan Willetts (two), Craig Marshall (two), Darren Andrews and Adam Blake.

Next up is a match againt third-placed Leamington at Walshes Meadow on Saturday (3pm) and a trip to Sutton Coldfield Town, also chasing promotion, on Monday night.

Hunt said: "In my first game we created a few chances but in the last three games against Willenhall, Chasetown and Rothwell we have created seven or eight good opportunities to score and didn't take them.

"Against Ledbury we probably created 15 or 20 chances and scored six. It was a good morale boooster.

"It should give us confidence for Saturday but we are still a mile off where I want to be."

Hunt is hopeful of adding at least one new player to his squad but admits he might have to shuffle his pack to make room.

He added: "It's difficult at the moment because we need to get another one or two faces in. We are talking to a few players but trying to tie up deals is difficult because I am on a budget where I have got to get people out before I can get anyone in."
