TERRY Jenkins has been drawn against Brian Jones in the first round of the Blue Square UK Open north-east regional final.
Ledbury thrower Jenkins will be looking to make a big impression at the tournament, which gets under way at the Gateshead Stadium on Sunday, to make up for going out of the recent PDC World Darts Championships at the first round stage to Kirk Shepherd.
Shepherd, who went on to make the final at Alexandra Palace before losing to Canadian John Part, has been drawn against Mark Carter in his opening game in Gateshead.
World number three James Wade currently heads the UK Open order of merit after winning two of the opening three regional finals.
The event is the fourth regional final of the eight for players to qualify for the televised finals in Bolton in June.
