WORCESTER'S Luke Narraway could benefit from the international retirement of Martin Corry as England rugby coach Brian Ashton names his RBS Six Nations training squad today.

Former skipper and number eight, Corry yesterday an-nounced his intention to hang up his England shirt following in the footsteps of fellow back-rower Lawrence Dallaglio.

With Bristol's Dan Ward-Smith injured, Narraway, the 24-year-old former King's School student, may be in line to win his first senior international call-up.

Narraway, who plies his trade at Gloucester, has been in impressive form for the table-topping Cherry and Whites.

Narraway, the son of St John's butcher and former Worcester forward Ian, has cemented his place in Dean Ryan's starting XV at Kingsholm this term and as the 2007 World Cup runners-up look to rebuild their squad following the retirements of Dallaglio, Corry, Mike Catt and Jason Robinson, Ashton will have to turn to the up-and-coming stars of the Guinness Premier-ship.

Narraway, the former Eng-land Under 21 international, has made 17 appearances for Gloucester this term keeping the likes of fit-again Wales international Gareth Delve and former Leicester number eight Adam Balding out of the starting XV, while two-cap England back rower James Forrester is out with a serious knee injury.

Narraway spent eight years at Sixways before being snapped up by Gloucester in 2002 and last summer he was in Canada with the England Saxons squad playing in the Churchill Cup.

If Narraway does make Ashton's training squad, he will likely understudy Harlequins' number eight Nick Easter.
