ANNIE Highway was the star of the show as Worcester City women began 2008 with a 4-0 victory over Redditch United at the Valley Stadium.
Highway, home from university, scored a hat-trick and Hazel Adams got the other to keep Worcester in touch with leaders Hereford Phoenix in West Midlands Division One South.
Captain Vicky Andrews was pleased with the win but thought they let Redditch off the hook.
She said: "We could and should have won by more but you could tell we had had a couple of weeks off.
"We had quite a few chances that we missed and the football wasn't as precise as we are used to."
City host Headless Cross at Bilford Road on Sunday (2pm) looking to improve on the 2-2 draw between the sides earlier in the season.
Worcester City Football Club is set to launch its business club later this month.
The new venture will take place on Saturday, January 19, when City host Workington in Blue Square North.
Lord Richard Faulkner will give a talk in the Harry Knowles Lounge prior to the match and there will also be talks from chairman Dave Boddy and manager Richard Dryden.
