WORCESTER City have acted quickly to replace departing goalkeeper Dan Jezeph by signing the former Bromsgrove Sporting and Halesowen Town shot-stopper Brendan Bunn.
Jezeph, having signed a contract for the 2021/22 campaign with City last month, departed last week after Alvechurch came knocking and the prospect of Step 3 football was an opportunity too good to refuse.
It left Worcester without a keeper in the squad but now manager Tim Harris has found his man to keep net this season.
Bunn played his part in The Yeltz' great run in the FA Trophy in the 2019/20 campaign, in which they reached the semi-finals as one of the lowest ranked sides in the competition.
On securing a new number 1, City boss Tim Harris said: "To be in a position to sign a replacement as good as Brendon so quickly after the departure of Dan Jezeph is very fortunate for everyone connected to the Club.
"I have personally watched Brendon perform admirably for Halesowen, he has a presence, is a good goalkeeper that has played at a higher level.
"He also knows several of the squad which will help him settle in quickly, he is cheerful character so I am positive it will not take him long and would like to officially welcome him to club."
Bunn has played behind the likes of current City skipper Craig Jones and often stand in Worcester captain Aaron Roberts whilst at Bromsgrove Sporting back in 2017.
The new signing is due to make his debut in Worcester's last pre-season friendly against Kidderminster Harriers this evening, kick off at 7.45pm.
