BROMYARD Town's 0-0 draw at Tividale gave them a big lift in their battle against relegation from the West Midlands League Premier Division.
They gained a valuable point from a terrific performance against top-six club Tividale.
Both teams played fast, attacking football but the visitors were denied the opener when a Craig Malins' effort was brilliantly turned round the upright by the home keeper in the 25th minute.
After the break, Tividale piled on the pressure but Bromyard worked tirelessly to keep them at bay with Aaron O'Malley making three outstanding saves from set-piece headers.
With only minutes remaining, veteran striker Carl Fairhurst nearly caught Tividale's keeper out with a long-range volley.
Moments later, Malins was through but a superb tackle denied the visitors maximum points. Bromyard head to Malvern Town tomorrow night in the Worcester Infirmary Senior Cup first round (7.45).
Meanwhile, the ninth annual meeting of Bromyard Town will be held at the clubhouse on Sunday, January 20, at 6.30pm.
All are welcome but only registered members are eligible to vote.
Other Worcester Infirmary Senior Cup ties tomorrow night see Pershore Town visit Alvechurch and Stourport Swifts host Ledbury Town (both 7.45).
Matches could be decided by extra-time and then penalties.
The other Infirmary Cup match will involve Westfields and Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday, January 22.
Westfields, whose home game with Tipton on Saturday was postponed due to the weather, travel to Studley in the Midland Alliance tomorrow night (7.45).
