WORCESTER City have signed centre-half Jon Munday on a one-month loan from Kidderminster Harriers.

The 19-year-old defender has been drafted in to aid the St George's Lane club's mounting injury crisis and goes straight into the Worcester squad for Saturday's visit of Hinckley United in Blue Square North.

Munday will be joined at City by another unnamed defender after the weekend as manager Richard Dryden looks to patch-up his team.

Kevin Spencer and Rapinder Gill are both ruled out for the Hinckley match, while captain Chris Smith, who was replaced by Carl Heeley at Redditch on New Year's Day, remains a major doubt with an ankle injury.

Boss Dryden confirmed: "Jon will be coming straight in for Saturday. There will be another defender coming in on Monday but he's involved somewhere else at the weekend.

"Jon is the sort of player we want. He knows the level and he knows there's a lot of hussle and bustle.

"He's decent in the air and on the floor. Once he's settled he will be a very good asset."

Teenager Munday, who has made three appearance for Harriers, joined the Aggborough club in August 2007.

The youngster impressed Kidderminster manager Mark Yates on a trial following his release from Queens Park Rangers.
