HAVING nearly upset FA Cup giant-killers Chasetown on New Year's Day, Stourport Swifts will look to kick-start their season at Willenhall Town on Saturday (3pm).
An 84th-minute winner from the Scholars condemned Neil Hunt's men to a 2-1 British Gas Business Division One Midlands defeat and made it an unhappy start to 2008 for the Walshes Meadow outfit.
However, the former Pershore Town chief feels Swifts are now turning the corner.
"When I first came here I thought the squad was going to need major surgery, but that isn't the case," said Hunt, who became Swifts' third manager of the season last month.
"I have brought in four new faces in Nathan Jukes, Dave Willetts, Richard Tomkins and Lee Tomkins and I'm hoping to bring in one more.
"But the attitude, application and performances have been fantastic - I couldn't have asked for more.
"What has let us down is the fitness and that is coming together now."
Hunt welcomes back Ryan Broadhurst and Adam Robinson for the trip to Noose Lane after missing Tuesday's match due to holidays.
The Swifts boss hopes victory over the Lockmen can help breed some much-needed confidence into his side.
He added: "Confidence is the key word at the minute and if we can get a couple of good results, hopefully we can go on a decent run."
