THE FA Alliance Committee has rejected the proposal from a number of clubs in the National League North and South leagues to form a new mini-league.
The mini-league was put to the committee in order to ensure promotion and relegation was maintained but the decision has been taken to stick with the original decision made last month to declare the season at Step 2 null and void.
The FA said: "Consideration was also given to an alternative sporting solution at Step 2 in line with a proposal submitted by certain Step 2 clubs.
"The Alliance Committee rejected the proposal, and any alternative, in the interest of the integrity of the National League System.”
