LEAGUES4YOU in Worcestershire are celebrating a milestone after welcoming their 1,000th player.
They currently run social netball leagues in Worcester, Evesham, Martley, Stourport, Rubery, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Brierley Hill and Malvern with more than 149 teams registered to play.
The leagues bring local women together to try the sport for the first time or brush up on their skills.
Jo Fox- Hunt, of Leagues4you, said: “Social netball offers a friendly and welcoming environment for people who want to get active and make friends without the pressure of a traditional competitive league.
"We run a Couch2Court session at the start of each season to build confidence for new starters and help alleviate any nerves — it means everyone feels included.
“We have seen the benefits first-hand — physical fitness, stress relief, camaraderie and above all the joy of having a laugh with your mates.
“To have 1,000 women involved in Worcestershire, who may not have played otherwise, makes us incredibly proud.
“We welcome individual players and whole teams at all levels. Courts, umpires, bibs and balls are all provided — just come along and play.”
