WORCESTER Warriors prop Simon Kerrod will join Harlequins ahead of the 2019-20 Gallagher Premiership campaign.
Quins head of rugby Paul Gustard said he had been monitoring the tighthead over the “last few months” and felt he had the ability to be a “success” at The Stoop.
After joining Warriors from Championship club Jersey Reds in the summer of 2017 Kerrod made 11 appearances in his debut season at Sixways.
The 26-year-old has ran out 13 times this term and scored his maiden try in the European Challenge Cup victory over Stade Francais in January.
But Kerrod whose contract expire at the end of the campaign has agreed to make the move to Quins.
“I have enjoyed my time at Worcester Warriors thoroughly,” Kerrod said.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved in the club for showing my wife and I the best experience.
“I am focused on finishing this season strongly at Warriors, especially with a home European Challenge Cup quarter-final in a competition which is important for the club.”
While second-from-bottom Warriors are battling to stay in the top-flight Quins are flying high in third position.
“It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Harlequins,” Kerrod said.
“I can sense the passion that Gussy and his team have instilled in the players and I know that they are hungry to win trophies there.
“I look forward to getting started next season and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this great club which already has such an illustrious history.”
Kerrod has previously played for Sharks, Eastern Province Kings and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Gustard said: “We have been monitoring Simon over the last few months and we know he is a player who can bring great value to our squad.
“He has strong technical ability in an area that is critical to success in the Gallagher Premiership and off the field he has proven to be a person of integrity and determination.
“The scrum and lineout in England is a fiercely contested area and its importance to league success is well documented.
“We know he has the ability to be a success here at Harlequins and we are delighted that he and his wife Sammy have committed their future with us.”
Warriors boss Alan Solomons added: “Simon is a good bloke who has made a positive contribution during his time here at Sixways. We wish him the very best in his new venture.”
