POWERHOUSE centre Dom Feau'nati is battling to prove his fitness in time for Worcester Warriors' crunch Guinness Premiership clash at Leeds Carnegie on Friday.

The Samoan international is making good progress in his recuperation from a strain to his left hamstring, which he picked up during the captain's run, the final training session, prior to Saturday's Sixways defeat against Saracens. However, it is still too early to tell whether Feaun'ati, who scored a try in the 24-24 draw with Wasps, will recover in time for the trip to Headingley Carnegie.

Elsewhere, injury-plagued Tim Collier has set his sights on making a long-awaited return to competitive action in the Warriors' EDF Cup clash with London Irish on the first weekend of December.

The huge second row underwent a knee reconstruction operation in April and, before that, went under the knife to cure shoulder problems.

The 29-year-old lock was expected to be out until next year but he has delighted director of sports medicine Brian Downey and director of rugby Mike Ruddock with his attitude and progress during rehabilitation.

Collier said: "I've got the all-clear from the surgeon to play after six months.

"That comes up in three weeks and I'm already now back into full-contact training with the boys."
