HEREFORD United first-team coach John Tre-wick believes victory at Notts County justified the decision to change personnel.

The Bulls got themselves back on track following the 2-1 defeat at Grimsby last weekend with a 3-2 win at Meadow Lane on Tuesday.

Manager Graham Turner was less than impressed with his side's showing at Blundell Park last Saturday and rung the changes in midweek.

Trent McClenahan was given his first start since returning from international duty with the Australia U23s, replacing Richard Rose at full-back.

Speedster Theo Robinson also took the place of Trevor Benjamin in attack as United opted for pace ahead of power.

Trewick said: "The extra pace and mobility of Theo, I think, was crucial. He showed some good ability and might have got a goal for himself.

"After Saturday things needed freshening up a little bit, that's what we did and it's paid dividends."

He added: "It was three points away from home, three goals scored but it was a bit tense and bit fraut as we came under pressure in the second-half.

"Everybody is contributing to what we are doing so we have just got to continue in that vein."

Striker Benjamin has been shortlisted for the Powerade League Two Player of the Month award for September.

Benjamin is Hereford's top-scorer this season with five goals and has been nominated along with Barnet's Jason Puncheon, Shrewsbury's Dave Hibbert and Anthony Elding from Stockport County.

The winner will be announced on Sky Sports on Monday.
