KIDDERMINSTER Harriers resources are stretched to the limit with fitness doubts over four senior players.

Experienced defender Jeff Kenna could be out for up to a month because of a stomach strain.

The former Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City man has been battling with the problem since pre-season and it has gradually got worse.

Goalkeeper Scott Bevan is still battling with a thigh strain which has kept him out of the last five games.

The former Huddersfield keeper is expected to out for the next few matches with the tear in his thigh muscle, but Aggborough chief Mark Yates at least has veteran Shrewsbury Town player Chris MacKenzie still on loan.

The Harriers will also be without striker Iyseden Christie for the immediate future as he battles with an ankle injury, while winger Simon Russell injury nightmare continues.

After returning from thigh injury a couple of weeks again the ex-Hull winger has suffered a recurrence of the injury and is expected to be out for a fortnight.

Yates said: "Those four were important players for us last season. The squad is big enough to cope without them, but I would rather they were fit because they are important.

"But we aren't doing anything different on the training ground but unfortunately we've picked up one or two injuries - it's just part of football."
